Harsha K. Rajasimha, Ph.D.

Harsha received his bachelor's in computer science (2000, Bangalore University, India), master's in computer science (2004, Virginia Tech) and Ph.D. (2007, Virginia Tech) in interdisciplinary Bioinformatics program. He has worked extensively on Bioinformatics database integration and Bioinformatics software application development for large interdisciplinary bioinformatics projects such as PATRIC (Pathosystems resource integration center ) and caBIG (Cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid ).

He is very excited about the emerging area of personalized medicine, the promise that next generation sequencing technologies hold and the data management and analysis challenges that they pose.
