Neurophysiology of Visual Attention

A postdoctoral position is available in the Laboratory of Sensorimotor Research, National Eye Institute (NEI), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to investigate the neurophysiology of visual attention in the frontal and parietal cortices of behaving monkeys. Experimental techniques include single- and multi-electrode recording, electrical microstimulation, and inactivation studies.

Applicants must have received a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree within the last 5 years. The salary range is from $37,100 to $51,000, depending upon experience. Experience in neurophysiology, attention or perception research, primate behavioral training and computer programming (C and Matlab) are preferred. Applicants must be a US citizen for an Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA) Fellowship; for a Visiting Fellowship, visa requirements apply.
