The course begins (rain or shine) on the NIH campus, Bethesda, Md., on the lawn in front of Building 1.
11:30 am - NIH Police Canine Unit will give a demonstration
11:45 am - NIH Recreation and Welfare fitness instructors will lead a warm-up, followed by welcome remarks from NEI Director Michael F. Chiang.
12:10 pm - Race starts
Participants will exit campus and circumnavigate the perimeter of campus and return through security (route map is below).
Remember to bring your NIH PIV card to re-enter.

Prevention of Blindness Society will provide FREE glaucoma and vision screening for eyeglasses. The screening will include a visual field test, a pressure test, and a picture of the optic nerve. Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that can cause peripheral vision loss and blindness by damaging the optic nerve. Screening is quick and easy and takes about 10 minutes to complete. The route: Exit campus on Wilson Drive, turn right (south) on Rockville Pike, turn right (west) on a path to Old Georgetown Road, turn right (north) on Old Georgetown, turn right (east) on Cedar Lane, and turn right (south) on Rockville Pike. Re-enter campus on Wilson Drive where you exited. The race starts and ends at the same location. Five water stations are along the route.
