Current Projects
Dr. Huang is active in research and is the director of clinical research in the Department of Ophthalmology and head of the Retinal Diseases Image Analysis Reading Center at University Hospitals Case Medical Center.
Professional Highlights
Dr. Huang is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He serves on the Executive Board of Directors and is the current President of the American Society of Retina Specialists, the world’s largest organization of retinal specialists. Dr. Huang is a member of the Diabetes Association of Cleveland, the Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology, and the Vitreous Society Foundation. He serves as a reviewer for Archives of Ophthalmology, Ophthalmology, and Current Eye Research, and was on the program committee of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Since 2003, Dr. Huang has served on the Board of Directors of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Northeast Ohio Chapter. In 2006, he was appointed to the Ophthalmic Technology Assessment Committee–Retina/Vitreous Panel and to the Research Regulatory and External Scientific Relations Committee, both committees associated with the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Huang was selected as one of "The Best Doctors in America" by Best Doctors® from 2003-2011, and has been listed by Northern Ohio Live Magazine and Cleveland Magazine as one of the areas "Top Docs" every year since 2004. He also received the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine Health Care Foundation of New Jersey 2000 Humanism in Medicine Award and the American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award in 2002.
