The National Eye Institute (NEI), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is committed to advancing medical research related to eye health and eye disease treatments. The Office of the NEI Technology Development Coordinator (TDC) is responsible for facilitating this commitment by assisting NEI scientists to exchange research materials, disseminate data, and forge scientific partnerships with industry, academia, and nonprofit organizations.
As a federal laboratory, NEI has a variety of mechanisms through which it can exchange and advance technologies in cooperation with non-federal entities. NEI contracts with the National Cancer Institute’s Technology Transfer Center (TTC) to ensure that NEI scientists are able to take full advantage of all available technology transfer mechanisms to advance the goals of the institute in a convenient and timely way. TTC assists NEI scientists with a full range of agreement types and professional advice.
NEI scientists may directly access the benefits of our office through email or telephone as listed below. NEI has specialists on hand to help you obtain or share materials in a manner that complies with NIH policy and federal law. At the same time we will completely take over the administrative burden so you can get on with your work. Our office initiates and processes all Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs), Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDAs), Clinical Trial Agreements (CTAs), or Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs).
