Postdoctoral Fellow in Ocular Gene Therapy

The Unit on Ocular Gene Therapy at the Bethesda, Maryland campus of National Eye Institute (NEI), National Institutes of Health (NIH), has an opening for a postdoctoral fellow. A major focus of research is the development of ocular gene therapeutics based on AAV vectors. Our major disease targets are X-linked retinoschisis, retinitis pigmentosa, and Leber congenital amaurosis. The successful candidate will also be involved in transitioning successful vectors to clinical trials at the NEI Clinical Center. Applicants should have a background in ocular biology and extensive experience with mouse models of retinal disease. AAV vector/gene therapy experience is desirable but not essential.
