Stargardt disease is an inherited retinal disease that can lead to severe vision loss. It is the juvenile form of macular degeneration. Central vision is affected while peripheral (side) vision usually remains intact. Although research continues, at this time, we do not have a way to prevent the progression of these eye diseases or restore the vision that has been lost.
