NEI’s National Eye Health Education Program (NEHEP) offers disease- and audience-specific programs for health educators. Through the NEHEP Partnership, NEI works with over 60 national partner organizations to support eye health education programs.

Black EyeCare Perspective

Mission: Black EyeCare Perspective cultivates and fosters lifelong relationships between Black eye care professionals and the eye care industry.

They’re redefining the color of the eye care industry 1% at a time by creating a pipeline for Black students into optometry.

Mission: BDO is a comprehensive online health resource specifically for African American people.

BDO leverages culture, content, and technology to transform people’s lives for the better and shares culturally relevant tips and strategies on health, wellness, lifestyle, and longevity.

BrightFocus Foundation

Mission: BrightFocus funds exceptional scientific research worldwide to defeat Alzheimer’s disease, macular degeneration, and glaucoma — and provides expert information on these serious diseases.

Center For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Vision Health Initiative

Mission: The CDC Vision Health Initiative promotes vision health and quality of life for everyone throughout all life stages.

They do this by preventing and controlling eye disease, eye injury, and vision loss resulting in disability.

Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc.

Mission: Chi Eta Phi Sorority’s mission is to encourage the pursuit of continuing education and support recruitment programs for health careers. They identify a core of nursing leaders who affect social changes at the national, regional, and local levels.

Children's Eye Foundation of American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS)

Mission: The mission of Children’s Eye Foundation of AAPOS is to end preventable vision loss in children and improve the lives of visually impaired children worldwide.

Delta Gamma Foundation

Mission: The Delta Gamma Foundation:

  • Fosters lifetime enrichment for members
  • Promotes Service for Sight — a program that supports schools for children with visual impairment

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)

Mission: VA’s mission is to serve and honor the people who are America’s Veterans.

Their vision is to provide Veterans the world-class benefits and services they have earned — and to do so by adhering to the highest standards of compassion, commitment, excellence, professionalism, integrity, accountability, and stewardship.

Glaucoma Research Foundation

Mission: The Glaucoma Research Foundation’s mission is to cure glaucoma and restore vision through innovative science.

They fund glaucoma research worldwide and empower a global community affected by the second leading cause of blindness.

Hadley

Mission: Hadley’s mission is to create personalized learning opportunities that empower adults with vision loss or blindness to thrive — at home, at work, and in their communities.

Helen Keller International

Mission: Guided by Helen Keller’s remarkable legacy, Helen Keller International partners with communities that are striving to overcome longstanding cycles of poverty.

By delivering the essential building blocks of good health, sound nutrition, and clear vision, they help millions of people create lasting change in their own lives.

Indian Health Service (IHS)

Mission: IHS’ mission is to raise the physical, mental, social, and spiritual health of American Indians and Alaska Natives to the highest level.

International Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (IJCAHPO)

Mission: IJCAHPO’s mission is to promote global eye health and prevent blindness through:

  • Accrediting training programs
  • Providing education
  • Certifying Allied Ophthalmic Personnel

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)

Mission: JDRF’s mission is to improve lives today and tomorrow by accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat type 1 diabetes and its complications.

Lighthouse Guild

Mission: Lighthouse Guild’s mission is to provide exceptional services that inspire people who are visually impaired to attain their goals.

Their vision is to create a world where no one is limited by their visual capacity.

Lions Clubs International

Mission: Lions Clubs International’s mission is to empower Lions clubs, volunteers, and partners to:

  • Improve health and well-being
  • Strengthen communities

Macular Degeneration Partnership (MDP)

Mission: MDP’s mission is to provide information and daily living tips for individuals with age-related macular degeneration. MDP is a program of the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute at UC Irvine Health.

National Alliance for Hispanic Health

Mission: The National Alliance for Hispanic Health’s mission is to achieve the best health for all.

They work to ensure that health includes the best of science, culture, and community.

National Association for Hispanic Elderly/Asociación Nacional Pro Personas Mayores (ANPPM)

Mission: ANPPM’s mission is to achieve social change by focusing on the needs of low-income minority and older Hispanic people — thus impacting the Hispanic community and the nation as a whole.
