Product Specification:

The requirement is for the purchase of above Femto HCA-10M-100K Amplifier and its power supply, the Femto PS-15-3-Low Ripple Power Supply, and the Femto low noise BNC signal cable CAB-LN1. These products are transimpedance amplifiers that will be used in a custom-built adaptive optics retinal imaging system. Together, these parts will convert a weak video signal from the Hamamatsu H7422A-40 and H7422A-50 photomultiplier tube detectors (PMTs) into a larger signal for image capture using the AlazarTech ATS9416 frame grabber. The software and hardware interface that allows the Femto components to seamlessly connect to the upstream (PMTs) and downstream (frame grabber) components listed above, and characterization of the response profile have already been developed and tested for implementation at multiple sites utilizing a similar custom-built adaptive optics retinal imaging system, including the Stanford University, the New York Ear and Eye Infirmary, UC San Diego, Medical College of Wisconsin, and University of Pennsylvania. The NEI Ophthalmic Genetics and Visual Function Branch has the next generation custom-built adaptive optics retinal imaging systems that share the same design components that is utilized by these other institutions. Selection of a different component would require significant resources and time for developing, testing, characterizing, and optimizing the engineering to interface the amplifier with the upstream and downstream components.
