Product Specification:

The requirement is for the purchase of lasers to act as light sources in optogenetic experiments. The iBeam Smart Laser unit is an ideal candidate for the reasons listed.

1)     This laser unit can be modulated at a very fast rate of 250 MHz with a very short rise time of 1 nanosecond.

2)     Laser can be directly controlled by external computer triggers and not through the power supply switch. This feature might reduce the electrical interference during the recording experiment.

3)     There are two software features, FINE (Feedback Induced Noise Eraser) and SKILL (Speckle Killer), that reduce the optical noise and ensure stable performance.

4)     The optical noise (<0.2%) of this laser is also very low compared to other models.

5)     This laser also comes with a graphical user interface (GUI) that is helpful while setting up the experiments.
