Background

The National Eye Institute (NEI), Division of Intramural Research (DIR), VRRS, functions as lead IC for the Building 49 Central Animal Facility, which provides animal care services to six (6) ICs and the Office of the Director on the NIH Bethesda campus. The Building 49 Central Animal Facility houses approximately 20,000 cages of rodents and over 500 cages of NHP in direct support of the mission of six (6) ICs and the Office of the Director.

Purpose and Objective

The Purpose of this acquisition is to order metro rack covers. The cover helps protect our clean supplies such as animal cages and water bottles by the front overlap and splash resistant. Dust particles can contaminate these items and transfer to the animals. Basically, by controlling the dust, we control what is being introduced to the animals in our care.

BASIS OF AWARD

The Building 49 Central animal facility are currently running low on the metro rack covers. These covers maintain the cleanliness of our supplies. Without these covers our clean supplies could become contaminated. The metro rack were specifically manufactured to fit our current existing three-sided carts.

Closing Statement: This notice is not a request for competitive proposals.  However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this notice.  Responses to this notice shall contain sufficient information to establish the interested parties’ bona-fide capabilities for fulfilling the requirement and include: unit price, list price, shipping and handling costs, the delivery period after contract award, the prompt payment discount terms, the F.O.B. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The information received will normally be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to proceed on a non-competitive basis or to conduct a competitive procurement.
