El Instituto Nacional de Trastornos Neurológicos y Accidentes Cerebrovasculares realiza y apoya investigaciones sobre los trastornos del cerebro y del sistema nervioso. Distribuye información sobre enfermedades tales como la enfermedad de Behcet, la dislexia, el dolor de cabeza, la esclerosis múltiple, el pseudotumor cerebral, la displasia septo-óptica, el derrame cerebral, la arteritis temporal (arteritis de células gigantes) y la enfermedad de von Hippel-Lindau.
