CANCELLED--Advances in Vision Research: Focus on Eye Genetics Programs

Speakers will include representatives from two NEI-led initiatives: (1) the Global Eye Genetics Consortium (GEGC), which was established in collaboration with Tokyo Medical Center to take a multifaceted approach to international research, training, and scientific exchange; and (2) eyeGENE®, a primarily U.S.-based network that has built a patient registry, biorepository, and genotype-phenotype database. Speakers at the NEI-hosted event will address research gaps such as the need to collect and openly share data from underrepresented populations, and lessons from GEGC and eyeGENE® programs.
