Dr. Krieger graduated summa cum laude with honors in biology from the College of Charleston, South Carolina. She received her medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. She served in the Air Force for 15 years, where she spent 3 years as a flight surgeon. She then went on to perform her residency in ophthalmology through the Air Force in San Antonio, TX. She spent 8 years in clinical practice at Joint Base Andrews in Camp Springs, MD. Dr. Krieger specializes in cataract and refractive surgery.
During her time in the military, Dr. Krieger's research focused mainly on infections after refractive surgery, corneal wound healing, and corneal crosslinking to treat degenerative corneal conditions. She also served as an instructor for the Military Ocular Trauma Course and the Expeditionary Craniofacial Trauma Course and was a contributing editor to the “Eye Trauma: Initial Care” clinical practice guidelines.
