Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month is September 15 through October 15

It’s time to “celebrar tus bellos ojos” (celebrate your beautiful eyes) during Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM)! At the National Eye Institute (NEI), we focus on making sure Hispanic/Latino communities have the information they need to protect their eye health. As part of this effort, we’re reaching out to Hispanic/Latino people — especially those at higher risk for eye diseases.

Join the National Eye Health Education Program (NEHEP) in connecting the Hispanic/Latino community with materials and resources to promote eye health — available in both English and Spanish.

We asked eye health professionals who identify as Hispanic/Latino about their career journey, what excites them the most about their profession, and what advice they’d give to someone getting started in the eye health field.
